Old Newspaper Article: There Were 100 Mi'kmaqs in Conne River-a Far Cry from 103,000
While growing up in Newfoundland, I never heard about any Mi'kmaq people from the west coast of Newfoundland. Then one day, all of a sudden a bunch of white Newfoundlanders started claiming to be Mi'kmaq.
This newspaper clipping confirms for me that point. This article was sent to me by a friend. Note the quote: "there are about 100 Mi'kmaqs in Conne River Newfoundland."
So now in 2023 we have over 100,000 white Newfoundlanders claiming to be Mi'kmaq. Also, I worked at the St. John's Native Friendship Centre as well, in those days we had less than 1,000 members. (if my memory serves me correctly, I think there were less than 500 members). Where were all these white Newfoundlanders who now claim to be Indigenous? They certainly were NOT coming to our little community centre.
I called the First Light Native Friendship Centre the other day and was told that there are both non- Indigenous and Indigenous (many pretendian frauds) who now work there. I know that they have booted real Inuit from that Native Centre now for refusing to teach Inuit cultural teachings to white settlers. We are being driven out of our own spaces in Newfoundland. Who is doing anything about that?
This tidal wave we are now buried under will keep us buried. Reminder: there are 6,500 Inuit in Labrador. There are 3,000 Conne River Mi'kmaq. There are 3,000 Innu in Labrador. There are over 100,000 white Newfies who race shifted to Indigenous and they self ID everywhere to rob Indigenous people in Canada.
